Predictive Maintenance & Operational Efficiency: imaginX iXGenie's Data-Driven Approach with IBM

Enterprise asset managers in industries such as manufacturing and transportation face significant challenges with predictive maintenance, equipment downtime and operational inefficiencies, all of which can negatively impact productivity and performance.

As a result, imaginX designed iXGenie to assist enterprise asset managers in improving decision-making and optimizing business performance. The iXGenie platform is an immersive experience that uses augmented reality (AR) to help technicians visualize the asset they are working with in real time. To further streamline the asset management process, we have focused on adopting generative AI. This led us to collaborate with IBM to build our solution with IBM watsonx.ai, a one-stop, integrated, end-to-end AI development studio, and IBM’s AI assistant technology, to deliver a data-driven, intelligent asset management solution that addresses our customers’ needs. 

IBM watsonx.ai helps enable imaginX to deliver AI-driven insights that can enhance asset performance monitoring and add predictive maintenance to asset-intensive industries. By leveraging advanced AI models via watsonx.ai, iXGenie can enable real-time analysis of asset health, proactive failure detection and prevent reduced downtime, helping to optimize operations and drive cost savings.

In addition, we've collaborated with IBM to build imaginX’s iXGenie with IBM’s AI assistant technology, providing customers with AI-driven assistants and automated workflows that streamline asset-related inquiries, troubleshoot issues and optimize work order execution. The iXGenie solution enables EAM businesses to increase efficiency, reduce response times, and improve asset lifecycle management. For example, a company can ask iXGenie about the status of an existing asset. From there, the AI assistant can pull real-time IoT sensor data from the asset to report its operating condition, check if the asset is due for a maintenance, and provide AI-driven recommendations if anomalies are detected, such as, “high vibration detected – recommend scheduling an inspection within the next 48 hours.” Companies can then use these insights to proactively manage their assets for optimal performance.
